Sony introduces a powerful addition to the XDCAM® Series, the simple and affordable XDCAM Archive, to meet rapidly increasing needs in file-based AV content archiving. It provides both online and offline archiving capabilities with online proxy data for effective search and browse. Product appearance is subject to change without notice. n Turnkey File-based Content Archiving Solution The XDCAM Archive comes with all the basic capabilities for file-based content archive management - file importing, cataloging, searching, archiving, and retrieving - allowing quick system setup. All client applications are pre-installed in the server and accessible through a standard IT network. n Offline Shelf Archive The XDCAM Archive provides an offline archiving capability using XDCAM Professional Disc™ media - large-capacity reliable media with an estimated shelf/ archival life of up to 50 years in accelerated testing. A GUI-based search facility displays the location of media on shelves, enabling intuitive and quick retrieval of archived content. n Online HDD-based Storage The XDCAM Archive comes with online hard disk drive storage for high-speed retrieval of frequently-used content. HDD content is shown as a virtual library of Professional Disc media, allowing you to migrate content offline by a simple drag and drop operation. n Fast Search and Preview Operation The XDCAM Archive offers quick file-based search capabilities such as metadata searches. Search results are shown as thumbnail lists, and you can view the content at your PC or Macintosh® without any latency. This type of operation is made possible by light-size proxy data, which is a time-code synchronized low-resolution copy of high-resolution AV data. The XDCAM Archive keeps all proxy data online, enabling quick content reviews even when AV data is offline. n Other Features • Storyboarding using proxy data You can storyboard - EDL-based edit - with proxy data, and export high-resolution data to nonlinear editors according to the storyboard. • Remote access via the Internet You have access to your XDCAM Archive system via an Internet VPN. Basic operations such as ingesting, searching, and retrieving can be performed even on a remote basis, further enhancing the flexibility of the solution.
