To protect against fire or electrical shock, do not put cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid. This may cause personal injury or damage to the product. 4. Close supervision is necessary when the HOT SHOT® unit is used by or near children or incapacitated persons. 5. Unplug cord from wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. 6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. 7. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by Sunbeam may cause fire, electrical shock or injury. 8. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or countertop or to touch hot surfaces, including the stove. 9. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes. 10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. 11. Extreme caution must be used when using an appliance containing hot liquids. 12. Do not use this appliance for other than intended use. 13. Scalding may occur if the lid is lifted during the heating cycle. 14. Do not leave this appliance unattended while in operation. THIS UNIT IS FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY FOR PRODUCTS PURCHASED IN THE U.S. AND CANADA ONLY To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug fits a polarized outlet only one way; if the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIC CORD A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, observe the following: 1. The extension cord must be rated at no less than 15 Amps, 120 Volts. 2. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. USING YOUR HOT SHOT® UNIT VERY IMPORTANT: Add water to the heating chamber BEFORE PLUGGING the hot water dispenser into an outlet, especially the first time the unit is used and whenever the unit has been exposed to freezing temperatures. OPERATING STEPS 1. Prior to first use, wash heating chamber and lid with a damp, soapy cloth and rinse well. DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT. 2. Use the hot water dispenser to HEAT WATER ONLY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HEAT ANY OTHER LIQUID OR FOOD IN THIS UNIT. 3. Pour the amount of water you wish to heat and use up immediately (up to 16 fluid ounces - 475 ml.) into the heating chamber. DO NOT OVERFILL HEATING CHAMBER. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 16 FL. OZ. (475 ml). (Refer to Figure 1) 4. Plug into 120 Volt outlet. 5. Close the cover and press the ON button on the top of the unit. (Refer to Figure 2) NOTE: The auburn light will be on while the water is heating and will turn off when the water is ready to dispense. 6. Add desired ingredients to your cup or bowl and center on the base underneath the dispensing spout. 7. When the auburn light turns off, press the DISPENSE lever on the front of the unit to fill the cup or bowl with heated water. (Refer to Figure 3) DRAIN THE UNIT COMPLETELY AFTER EACH USE. 8. Simply mix and your favorite food or beverage is ready for your enjoyment! NOTE: If a second cup of water is to be heated immediately, be sure the unit is completely drained, then add the desired amount of COLD water. The cold water will help cool the tank and allow the reset of the thermostat. SUGGESTED USES • Soothing herbal teas, soups, noodle mixes and bouillon are just a HOT SHOT® dispenser away! • Enjoy hot chocolate quickly with your HOT SHOT® unit after a brisk walk in the snow! • Use your HOT SHOT® unit to enjoy a fresh cup of instant coffee anytime, anywhere. • HOT SHOT® units prepare comfy instant oatmeal for a nourishing breakfast on busy mornings. • Use a HOT SHOT® unit to heat water for infant formula and cereal. CAUTION: Always test temperature before feeding children or infants as contents will be hot. CARE AND CLEANING CLEANING Unplug unit before cleaning. After unit is cool, wipe exterior with a soft, damp cloth, and then dry with a soft towel. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads. DO NOT IMMERSE HOT WATER DISPENSER IN WATER. IMPORTANT: After continual use, a lime deposit may accumulate in the heating chamber causing longer heating cycles. The rate at which the deposit forms will vary depending on the hardness of the water used and the frequency with which the unit is used. To remove the deposit: 1. Unplug cord from outlet. 2. Add a mixture of 1/2 water and 1/2 white distilled vinegar solution (8 fluid oz. - 235 ml each) to the heating chamber and let it remain in the heating chamber until the deposit is removed. Drain the cleaning solution by pressing down on the DISPENSE lever. DO NOT HEAT THE VINEGAR SOLUTION. 3. Run one or two fresh water cycles to remove any residual cleaning solution. STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE • Unplug and empty the hot water dispenser when not in use. • Store the hot water dispenser on a dry counter top or table top. • When not in use, the electric cord should be coiled and stored in the area provided in the hollow base of the hot water dispenser. • Route cord through "T" slot in back of housing to prevent unit from resting on cord during operation. • Other than the recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be necessary. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE THE DISPENSER. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS ARE INSIDE. CONSERVE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES CORDÓN ELÉCTRICO Un cable corto de poder viene incluido para reducir los riesgos de tropezarse o enredarse, como con un cable largo. Cables suplementarios de poder más grandes o extensión de cables están disponibles y pueden utilizarse con cuidado en su uso. Si una extensión de cable es utilizada, siga los siguientes pasos: 1. El voltaje eléctrico marcado deberá ser no menor a 15 Amperes y a 120 Voltios. 2. El largo del cable deberá utilizarse de tal modo que no cuelgue en la mesa en donde pueda ser jalado por los niños o pueda tropezarse accidentalmente. USANDO SU APARATO HOT SHOT® MUY IMPORTANTE: Agregue agua al compartimiento de calentamiento ANTES DE CONECTAR el aparato a la toma de corriente, especialmente la primera vez que la unidad sea usada y siempre que la unidad se exponga a temperaturas congelantes. PROCEDIMIENTO DE OPERACIÓN 1. Antes del primer uso, lave el compartimiento de calentamiento y la tapa con un paño húmedo y jabonoso y enjuague bien. NO SUMERJA LA UNIDAD. 2. USE el aparato para CALENTAR AGUA ÚNICAMENTE. NO INTENTE CALENTAR NINGÚN OTRO LÍQUIDO O ALIMENTO EN ESTA UNIDAD. 3. Vierta la cantidad de agua que usted desea calentar y use inmediatamente (hasta 16 onzas líquidas - 475 ml) dentro del comportamiento de calentamiento. NO LLENE DE MAS EL COMPARTIMIENTO DE CALENTAMIENTO. NO USE MAS DE 16 OZ. (475 ml). (Vea la Figura 1) 4. Conecte a una toma de corriente de 120 voltios. 5. Cierre la tapa y presione el botón de ENCENDIDO (ON) en la parte superior de la unidad. (Consulte la Figura 2) NOTA: La luz de color rojizo se encenderá mientras el agua se está calentando y se apagará cuando el agua esté lista para ser servida. 6. Agregue los ingredientes que desee a su taza o recipiente y colóquelo en el centro de la base debajo del punto en que cae el agua. 7. Cuando la luz de color rojizo se apague, presione la palanca DISPENSAR en la parte frontal de la unidad para llenar la taza o el recipiente con agua caliente. (Consulte la Figura 3) VACÍE LA UNIDAD COMPLETAMENTE DESPUÉS DE CADA USO. 8. ¡Simplemente mezcle, y su comida o bebida favorita estará lista para que usted la disfrute! NOTA: Si desea calentar una segunda taza de agua inmediatamente después, asegúrese de que la unidad esté completamente vacía y luego, agregue la cantidad de agua FRÍA que desee. El agua fría ayudará a enfriar el tanque y permitirá reiniciar el termostato. SUGERENCIAS DE USO • ¡Sólo necesitará una unidad dispensadora HOT SHOT® para suavizar tés de hierbas, sopas, preparados con fideos y caldos! • ¡Disfrute un chocolate caliente rápidamente con su aparato HOT SHOT® después de una agitada caminata por la nieve! • Use la unidad HOT SHOT® para disfrutar de una taza de café instantáneo en cualquier momento, en cualquier lugar. • El aparato HOT SHOT® prepara cómodamente avena instantánea para un nutritivo desayuno en esas mañanas ocupadas. • Use el aparato HOT SHOT® para calentar el agua para la leche del bebe y el cereal, justo en su recamara. PRECAUCIÓN: Siempre pruebe la temperatura antes de alimentar a niños o lactantes, ya que los alimentos estarán calientes. LIMPIEZA CUIDADOS Y LIMPIEZA Desconecte la unidad antes de limpiarla. Después de que la unidad se enfríe, limpie el exterior con un paño suave y húmedo, después seque con una toalla suave. NO use limpiadores abrasivos o fibras de metal, NO SUMERJA EL APARATO EN AGUA. Importante: Después de el uso continuo, residuos de sal se pueden acumular e el compartimiento de calentamiento causando ciclos de calentamiento más largos. El ritmo al cual se forman los depósitos puede variar dependiendo de la dureza del agua que se use y de la frecuencia con la que la unidad se usa. Para remover los depósitos: 1. Desconecte el cordón de la toma de corriente. 2. Agregue una solución de mitad de agua y mitad de vinagre blanco destilado (8 oz. - 235 ml cada una) al compartimiento de calentamiento y permita que se quede en el compartimiento de calentamiento hasta que los depósitos sean removidos. Vacíe la solución limpiadora al presionar la palanca para servir DISPENSE, NO CALIENTE LA SOLUCIÓN DE VINAGRE. 3. Procese uno o dos ciclos de agua para remover cualquier residuo de solución limpiadora. ALMACENAMIENTO Y MANTENIMIENTO • Desconecte y vacíe la unidad cuando no se encuentre en uso. • Almacene la unidad en un mostrador seco o sobre una mesa. • Cuando no esté en uso, el cordón eléctrico debe enrollarse y almacenarse en el área que se provee en la base de la unidad. • Guíe el cordón por la abertura en forma de "T" en la parte trasera del exterior de la unidad para prevenir que ésta descanse sobre el cordón durante la operación. No es necesario otro mantenimiento, mas que la limpieza indicada. ADVERTENCIA: PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE INCENDIO O DESCARGA ELÉCTRICA, NO INTENTE DESARMAR EL APARATO. EN EL INTERIOR NO SE ENCUENTRA NINGUNA PARTE A LA QUE EL USUARIO LE PUEDA DAR SERVICIO.
