11 − Messages & Troubleshooting Troubleshooting ªª The power does not come on. Is the power plug completely connected? ªª "Disc Error!" or "Mecha Error!" appears on the display. The disc might be dirty. Change the disc. ªª "System Err!" appears on the screen. The MD deck could be malfunctioning. Please contact a TEAC service center. ªª The unit cannot play a disc. Is there condensation? If there is condensation, eject the disc, turn the power OFF and wait several hours. ªª There is no sound. •• Confirm the connections with the audio system. •• Check the volume and the amplifier settings. ªª Cannot record to a disc. •• If the MD is write-protected, slide the write-protection tab. •• Confirm connections with connected equipment again. •• Adjust the recording level. •• MDs that are only for playback cannot be recorded. Load a recordable MD. •• If the MD remaining time is insufficient, erase unneces- sary tracks or change the MD. •• Confirm the audio system settings. ªª Even though I changed a setting, it has not been saved. This unit backs up mode settings every time they are changed. If the power is turned OFF too quickly after a setting is made, the setting might not be saved. ªª I hear noise. Troubleshooting
The power does not come on.
ª
Is the power plug completely connected?
“Disc Error!” or “Mecha Error!” appears on

the display.
The disc might be dirty. Change the disc.
"System Err!" appears on the screen.
ª
The MD deck could be malfunctioning. Please contact a
TEAC service center.
The unit cannot play a disc.
ª
Is there condensation?
If there is condensation, eject the disc, turn the power OFF
and wait several hours.
There is no sound.
ª
Confirm the connections with the audio system.
Check the volume and the amplifier settings.
Cannot record to a disc.
ª
If the MD is write-protected, slide the write-protection
tab.
Confirm connections with connected equipment again.
Adjust the recording level.
MDs that are only for playback cannot be recorded.
Load a recordable MD.
