ENGLISH I STOP (H) Use this button to stop playback or recording. J PLAY/PAUSE (y/J) Use this button to start or pause playback and recording. K OPEN/CLOSE (L) Use this button to open and close the disc tray. L VOLUME Turn this knob to adjust the volume. W CLEAR In CD mode, use this button to clear programmed tracks. X SHUFFLE In CD mode, use this button for shuffle playback. Note: To simplify explanations, instructions refer to names of buttons and controls on the front panel, making no mention of the use of remote control unit. M Skip/Search (.m/,/), TUNING ( ) In CD mode, use these buttons to skip tracks. Hold down these buttons to search for a part of a track. In FM/AM mode, use these buttons to tune in a station. N ERASE/FINALIZE, FM MODE Use this button to finalize a CD-R/CD-RW disc. Use this button to erase or unfinalize a CD-RW disc. Use this button to select FM MODE. O MANUAL/AUTO REC, PRESET Use this button to select the mode of track number assignment. In TUNER mode, use this button to select a preset station. P Disc Tray Q REC LEVEL In record pause mode, use this knob to adjust the recording level. R PHONES For private listening, first reduce the volume level to minimum. Then insert the plug from your headphones into the PHONES jack, and adjust the volume by turning the VOLUME knob. The sound from speakers will be cut off while the headphones are plugged in. < Do not turn the unit on or off, or insert or pull out the headphones jack while wearing the headphones. (Excessive sounds may occur from the headphones.) < The sound from speakers will be cut off while the headphones are plugged in. S POWER Press this button to turn the unit on or off.
