Introduction Connecting your TV Using the Remote Control Connecting an audio system This connection allows you to use an audio amplifier to adjust the audio level. This also allows you to use external speakers. To control the audio, turn on the TV and the stereo amplifier, and turn off the built-in speakers (see "Turning off the built-in speakers" on page 47). You will need: • one pair of audio cables Note: To hear sound when using an external audio amplifier, the volume of both the TV and the amplifier must be set above 0 (zero). For example, if the volume of the TV is set to 0, you will not be able to hear any sound, even if the volume of the amplifier is at its highest level. You will need: • one coaxial cable (may be provided by your cable company) • one set of standard A/V cables • one single audio cable for the audio center channel Caution: To avoid damaging the speakers: • Turn off the TV before connecting or disconnecting the Audio Center Channel cable. • Do not connect from the A/V receiver's Center Speaker OUT (amplified signal) to the TV's Audio Center Channel IN.
