Chapter 8: Using the TV's features Using the POP features (continued) POP double-window aspect ratio The POP double-window feature displays each picture according to its input signal aspect ratio, as illustrated below. Note: The AUTO ASPECT RATIO feature (page 66) does not operate in POP double-window mode. 480i 480i 480p/720p/1080i 480i 480i 480p/720p/1080i 480p/720p/1080i 480p/720p/1080i ACTION MENU +10 - 100 THEATER NET FAV ENTER ENTER y x • z + PAGE - Using the programmed channel scan feature You can use this feature to quickly scan and tune the channels you programmed into the TV's channel memory. Note: This feature will not work until you program channels into the TV's memory (see page 42). To scan the programmed channels: 1. Press CH SCAN. The TV automatically enters POP multi-window mode, and begins a seven-picture scan of your programmed channels. The channels displayed in the seven POP multi-windows will continue to change, to allow you to scan all programmed channels. 3 4 5 6 7 CABLE 10 8 9 10 2. Press yzx • to select one of the seven pictures, which becomes a moving picture. (The main picture is always moving .) 3. Press ENTER to display the channel you selected in step 2 as the main picture. To cancel the channel scan without changing the channel: Press EXIT. NOTICE OF POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS ON TV PICTURE TUBE Avoid displaying stationary images on your TV screen for extended periods of time. Fixed (non-moving) images (such as still PIP/POP windows or black/gray bars in wide-screen picture or PIP/POP formats) can become permanently engrained in the picture tube.
