Getting Started 59 Caring for your computer Using a computer lock You may want to secure your computer to a heavy object such as your desk. The easiest way to do this is to purchase an optional computer lock cable. For more information on purchasing a cable lock, visit accessories.toshiba.com. (Sample Illustration) Computer lock cable To secure the computer: 1 Wrap the cable through or around some part of a heavy object. Make sure there is no way for a potential thief to slip the cable off the object. 2 Pass the locking end through the loop. 3 Insert the cable's locking end into the security lock slot on your computer, then engage the locking device. To secure the computer:

Wrap the cable through or around some part of a heavy object.
Make sure there is no way for a potential thief to slip the cable
off the object.

Pass the locking end through the loop.
3
Insert the cable’s locking end into the security lock slot on your
computer, then engage the locking device.
The computer is now securely locked.
