Connect the AC adapter to the DC-IN on the back of the computer [3]. Connect the other end of the power cable to a live electrical outlet. Open the display by pushing the latch on the front of the computer [4]. Locate the power button at the bottom left of the display panel [5]. Slide it to the right and release to power on the computer. To turn off the computer, click the START button, then click the Turn Off Computer button and finally, confirm by clicking the appropriate option when the prompt window pops up. Be sure to reinsert the stylus so it is not lost. Using the stylus: To release the stylus pen [6], press it inwards and release. Then simply pull it out of the computer. When at the desktop, the pen buttons work as follows: the top button [7] launches the OneNote application, the second button [8] changes the screen resolution from 1400x1050 to the default 1024x768 and back, the third button [9] engages the Shift Lock and the forth [10] engages Ctrl Lock. To right-click using the stylus, press and hold the button near the front of the pen, then tap the location you wish to right-click and release the button. Alternatively, you may simply tap and hold the stylus on the screen to right-click. OneNote: You can use the pen on the computer to take notes in your own handwriting using OneNote. Tablet Mode: To use tablet mode, make sure the screen is perpendicular to the body and rotate the screen 180 degrees clockwise. The screen will transform from landscape into portrait mode and an audible click will be heard when it is fully rotated. Rotate the latch 180 degrees and fold the screen down into the body to secure. To reverse, simply reverse the previous directions, making sure to rotate the screen counter-clockwise. In tablet mode, there are several buttons on the lower right part of the screen that are useful. The one on the left [11] allows you to navigate around the desktop by pushing left, right, up or down. To launch an application, press the button in. The right-most button [13] will launch the task manager and the middle button [12] will select between landscape and portrait mode for projection. Other tools: You can use the stylus to input text into any application using the Tablet PC Input Panel located to the immediate right of the START button. You can either tap the letters you want to use or you can use the stylus to write by clicking on the Writing Pad tab. When you have finished typing/writing and are ready to send your text, click the Send button. You may even write in cursive and it will convert into script text.
