124 If you have problems Troubleshooting Problem Cause Solution Reference The charging screen does not appear when the gigabeat® is connected to the computer. The gigabeat® is not connected properly. Check the connection between the USB cable and gigabeat®. See "Charging the Built-in Battery/Connecting to a computer" on page 22 The ambient temperature is outside the specified operating temperature range. Charge the gigabeat® within the specified operatingtemperature range. See "Specifications" on page 129 The computer does not recognize the gigabeat®. The gigabeat® is not properly connected to the computer. Check the connection with the computer. See "Charging the Built-in Battery/Connecting to a computer" on page 22 Resetting the gigabeat® If taking the corrective actions in the table above does not solve your problem, try resetting the gigabeat® using the following steps: 1 Press the Reset button on the side of the gigabeat®. Use a pointed instrument such as a pen or paper clip to press the Reset button. The gigabeat® settings will revert to the values it had when you last turned it off. (The exception to this are the date and time.) 2 Reset the date and time. If this still does not resolve the problem, contact Warranty Service for assistance.
