Introduction Power Battery Pack RTC Battery AC Adaptor Disks Your computer is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. The internal RTC battery backs up the Real Time Clock and calendar. The universal AC adaptor provides power to the system and recharges the batteries when they are low. It comes with a detachable power cord. Because it is universal, it can receive a range of AC voltage from 100 to 240 volts; however, the output current varies among different models. Using the wrong model can damage your computer. Refer to the AC adaptor section in Chapter 2, The Grand Tour. Hard disk Disclaimer 1 Gigabyte (GB) means 109 = 1,000,000,000 bytes using powers of 10. The computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1 GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes, and therefore shows less storage capacity.
