Turn the power on and make sure the added memory is recognized. Removing memory module If you use the computer for a long time, the memory modules will become hot. In this case, let the memory modules cool to room temperature before you replace them. To remove the memory module, make sure the computer is in boot mode then: 1. Be sure the power is off and all cables are disconnected from the computer. Do not try to remove a memory module with the computer turned on. You can damage the computer and the module. a. The computer is turned on. b. The computer was shut down using the Stand by mode. c. Power to the optical media drive has been turned on by the CD Power switch. 2. Turn the computer upside down and remove the battery and the screw securing the memory module socket cover. 3. Slide your fingernail or a thin object under the cover and lift it off. TECRA A3/S2 8-8

Seat the cover and secure it with the screw.
9.
Replace the battery pack as described in Chapter 6,
Power System.
10. Turn the power on and make sure the added memory is recognized.
Removing memory module
To remove the memory module, make sure the computer is in boot mode
then:
1.
Be sure the power is off and all cables are disconnected from the
computer.
a. The computer is turned on.
b.
The computer was shut down using the Stand by mode.
c.
Power to the optical media drive has been turned on by the CD Power
switch.

Turn the computer upside down and remove the battery and the screw
securing the memory module socket cover.
3.
Slide your fingernail or a thin object under the cover and lift it off.
