Vaddio HD-22/30 Camera Firmware Updating Procedure

Requirements:



RS232 adapter (Vaddio part# 998-1001-232)



PC with serial connection or USB to Serial Adapter



Camera Firmware

Step-by-Step Instructions (Camera Firmware):

1)

If you have a previous version of Vaddio Loader installed, go to Control Panel and un-install it.

2)

Download and install latest Vaddio Loader software located here:

3) Download and save the firmware update file for the camera named PowerVIEW HD-22/HD-30 Camera

4)

Make sure you know which PC com port is used with your serial connection and open Vaddio Loader. Select

the proper com port if prompted.

Note to Self:

Record the dip switch settings (camera functions) and rotary switch settings (resolution) on the camera

prior to the upgrade.

5) With the camera unplugged from power supply, set the Resolution rotary switch to “A” and set Camera

Settings dip switch 3 to the up position and dip switch 10 to the down position.

Connect the Ethernet patch cable from the RS232 port on the camera RJ45 to DB-9 adapter (part number

998-1001-232) The DB-9 end will connect to the serial port or USB/serial adapter on the computer.

7)

Reconnect the power supply (or Cat-5 cable to EZ-Power Video port or CCU slot card) and the camera will

initialize in boot loader mode.

The red tally light on the front of the camera will turn on indicating that it’s ready

to proceed.

8)

Open the Vaddio Loader program, click on the Help Menu and select Reset Products.

9)

After resetting the products in the Help menu, select Camera under the Product Type.

10) Click on the drop-down menu just above the product type and select PowerVIEW HD-22(Camera/Control).

Select PowerVIEW HD-30(Camera/Control) if you are updating an HD30.

11) Click on Select Load File and browse to the location where camera hex file was saved (downloaded in Step 3).

Click on select Start.

Please do not interrupt the firmware load
