Battery After the battery is fully charged, you can expect the following performance: Appendix Operation While in use (talking) Operating time 4.5 hours While not in use (standby*) *Handset is off the telephone base but not in use. 3 days The battery needs charging when: • A new battery is installed in the handset. • The telephone beeps when taken off the telephone base. • The battery indicator on the handset screen is flashing. They may explode. Check with local waste management codes for special disposal instructions. 3. Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause burns or injury to the eyes or skin. The electrolyte may be toxic if swallowed. 4. Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to create a short circuit with conductive materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery and/or conductor may overheat and cause burns. 5. Charge the battery provided with or identified for use with this product only in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.
