Maintenance and Troubleshooting Troubleshooting • Relocate your headset or telephone base to a higher location. You may experience better reception by elevating the headset or telephone base. • If the other phones in your home are having the same problem, the problem is in your wiring or local service. Contact your local telephone company (charges may apply). I hear other calls while using my headset. • Disconnect the headset or telephone base from the telephone jack, and plug in a different telephone. If you still hear other calls, the problem is probably in your building's wiring or local service. Call your local telephone company. I cannot hear a ring tone from the headset when there is an incoming call. • If you have pressed MUTE/FLASH on the headset when it is ringing, it mutes the ring tone of the headset. The ring tone resumes on the next call. • You may have too many extension phones on your telephone line to allow all of them to ring simultaneously. Try unplugging some of the other phones. • The layout of your home or office might be limiting the operating range. Try moving the headset or telephone base to another location, preferably on an upper floor. 33
