TREADMILL OPERATION Read the instructions below before starting the treadmill. 1. Plug the power cord into the treadmill frame and wall outlet. (See PLUGGING THE POWER CORD IN on page 5 for proper grounding instructions.) 2. Step onto the foot rails and hold the side rails firmly. A CAUTION: Do not stand on the walking belt when turning the power on. 3. Attach the clip on the safety key to the waistband of your clothing. Insert the key into the console. To turn the power on, move the key to the right. The power indicator will light. ACAUTION: Always wear the clip when operating the treadmill. If you fall, the key will be pulled from the console, instantly turning the power off. 4. Turn the speed control knob counterclockwise until it stops at the "reset" position. (NOTE: The knob must be turned to the reset position before the walking belt can be started.) Next, turn the knob slowly clockwise until the walking belt begins to move at slow speed. After the knob is turned, there will be a pause of up to 10 seconds before the walking belt begins to move. 5. Carefully step onto the walking belt and begin exercising. 6. Adjust the speed of the walking belt as desired by turning the speed control knob. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the speed, or counterclockwise to decrease the speed. 7. To turn the power off, move the safety key to the left. Remove the key from the console. CHANGING THE INCLINE To vary the intensity of your exercise, the incline of the treadmill can be changed using the incline control lever on the right side of the console. Do not change the incline while you are walking or running on the treadmill. To increase the incline, stand toward the back of the foot rails and pull back the lever until the desired incline is reached. To decrease the incline, stand toward the front of the foot rails, lean forward if necessary, and pull back the lever until the desired incline is reached. ELECTRONIC MONITOR OPERATION Refer to the Electronic Monitor Operation Guide accompanying this manual. TROUBLE-SHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies to your treadmill and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please call our Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-800-999-3756, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mountain Time (excluding holidays). 1. SYMPTOM: THE POWER DOES NOT TURN ON a. Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and the treadmill frame. (See OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT in this manual.) If an extension cord is needed, use only a 14-gauge general-purpose cord of five feet or less in length.

2.
Step
onto
the
foot
rails

hold

rails

A
CAUTION:
Do
not
stand
on
the
walking
belt
when
turning
the
power
on.
3.
Attach
the
clip
on
the
safety
key
to
the
waistband
of
your
clothing.
Insert
the
key
into
the
console.
To
turn
the
power
on,
move
the
key
to the
right.
The
power
indicator
will
light.
ACAUTION:
Always
wear
the
clip
when
operating
the
treadmill.
If
you
fall,
the
key
will
be
pulled
from
the
console,
instantly
turning
the
power
off.
4.
Turn
the
speed
control
knob
counterclockwise
until
it
stops
at
the
"reset"
position.
(NOTE:
The
knob
must
be
turned
to
the
reset
position
before
the
walking
belt
can
be
started.)
Next,
turn
the
knob
slowly
clockwise
until
the
walking
belt
begins
to
move
at
slow
speed.
After
the
knob
is
turned,
there
will
be
a
pause
of
up
to
10
seconds
before
the
walking
belt
begins
to
move.
5.
Carefully
step
onto
the
walking
belt
and
begin
exercising.
6.
Adjust
the
speed
of
the
walking
belt
as
desired
by
turning
the
speed
control
knob.
Turn
the
knob
clockwise
to
increase
the
speed,
or
counterclockwise
to
decrease
the
speed.
7.
To
turn
the
power
off,
move
the
safety
key
to
the
left.
Remove
the
key
from
the
console.
CHANGING
THE
INCLINE
To
vary
the
intensity
of
your
exercise,
the
incline
of
the
treadmill
can
be
changed
using
the
incline
control
lever
on
the
right
side
of
the
console.
Do
not
change
the
incline
while
you
are
walking
or
running
on
the
treadmill.
To
increase
the
incline,
stand
toward
the
back
of
the
foot
rails
and
pull
back
the
lever
until
the
desired
incline
is
reached.
To
decrease
the
incline,
stand
toward
the
front
of
the
foot
rails,
lean
forward
if
necessary,
and
pull
back
the
lever
until
the
desired
incline
is
reached.
