Safely Dismounting the Drive MY BOOK FOR MAC USER MANUAL CAUTION! To prevent data loss, close all active windows and applications before shutting down or disconnecting the drive. You can safely disconnect the drive from your computer by using either: • The desktop My Book for Mac icon • The My Book for Mac listing in Finder Using the Desktop My Book for Mac Icon 1. Right- or control-click the My Book for Mac icon on the desktop and select Eject "My Book for Mac": You might hear the drive power down. 2.
