Turning Off the Drive In most cases, the drive turns off when you turn off the computer. If not, follow these steps to turn off the drive. 1. Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in your system tray. 2. Select Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device. 3. When a message is displayed that it is safe to remove the drive, press the Power button on the drive to turn it off.
