Only one LED illuminates at a time corresponding to drive capacity used. Power/Activity LED Behavior Appearance Steady Slow flashing Alternating left to right then right to left Drive State Power-on state or power-save mode Drive standby Drive in use Capacity Gauge The capacity gauge is enabled only through installation of WD Drive Manager, which must be installed on each system to which My Passport is connected. The capacity gauge is updated automatically upon drive usage. The capacity gauge consists of four sections which illuminate left to right to indicate space used on the drive during power-on state. Each section represents approximately 25 percent of drive capacity. Because this drive is preformatted and contains software and utilities, the first section is illuminated upon installation.
