COOKTOP CONTROLS - KNOB CONTROLS WARNING Hot Surface Indicator Lights (on Knob Control models) The Hot Surface Indicator Lights will glow as long as any surface cooking area is too hot to touch, even after the surface cooking area(s) is turned off. A Fire Hazard Turn off all controls when done cooking. Failure to do so can result in death or fire. The controls can be set to anywhere between HI and LO. To Use: 1. Push in and turn knob to desired heat setting. Use the following chart as a guide when setting heat levels. SETTING RECOMMENDED USE HI s Start food cooking. s Bring liquid to a boil. Medium High Between MEDIUM - HI s Hold a rapid boil. s Quickly brown or sear food. MEDIUM s Maintain a slow boil. s Fry or sauté foods. s Cook soups, sauces and gravies. s High simmer or simmer without lids. Medium Low Between MEDIUM - LO s Stew or steam food. s Simmer. LO s Melt chocolate or butter. s Low simmer using lids. ACCUSIMMER® setting (on some models) s Precise simmer control. Dual Elements (on some models) s Large- or small-diameter cookware. s Large or small quantities of food. Warm Zone Element (on some models) s Keep cooked foods warm. s Home canning. A.
