Step Description 3. Slowly but firmly pull out the drain hose from its fitting in the pump outlet. Discard the drain hose. Figure 4. Slowly but firmly push the longer drain hose on the fitting of the pump outlet. 5. Plug in machine or connect power after servicing. Insert hose so that the end of the hose extends 4.5" (114 mm) into the standpipe. 6. Floor standpipe drain system: Minimum diameter for a standpipe drain: 2" (51 mm). Top of standpipe must be at least 30" (762 mm) high; install no higher than 36" (910 mm) from bottom of dryer. 7.
