15 Installing Windows utilities Setting up the DocuColor as a PostScript printer To set up the DocuColor as a PostScript printer, you need a PostScript printer driver and the appropriate DocuColor printer description files. Printer drivers and procedures vary across Windows versions. These sections also include some information about network setup. Consult the section that applies to your version of Windows. • See "Setting up printing with Windows 3.1x" on page 15. • See "Setting up printing with Windows 95" on page 20. • See "Setting up printing with Windows NT 3.51" on page 33. • See "Setting up printing with Windows NT 4.0" on page 38. Setting up printing with Windows 3.1x To take advantage of PostScript Level 2 features in applications that support them, install the Adobe PostScript Printer Driver (version 3.0.1 included with User Software CD). TO INSTALL THE ADOBE POSTSCRIPT PRINTER DRIVER AND PPD FOR USE WITH WINDOWS 3.1X: 1. Start Windows and exit any applications that start automatically. 2. Insert the User Software CD in your computer. 3. In the Windows Program manager, choose Run from the File menu. 4. Click Browse. 5. Select the drive containing your User Software CD or Printer Files disk, open the ENGLISH\PRNTDRV\WIN_31 folders, and select the SETUP.EXE file. 6. Click OK in the Browse and Run dialog boxes. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
