Quick Guide ● Foot Controller/Footswitch An optional Yamaha foot controller (FC7) or footswitch (FC4 or FC5) can be connected to the AUX PEDAL jack and used to control various functions assigned (page 182). Making Settings for the Pedals You can assign one of the various functions to the three pedals or an optional foot controller/footswitch, doing things like starting and stopping the Style (page 182). Using the Metronome The metronome provides a click sound, giving you an accurate tempo guide when you practice, or letting you hear and check how a specific tempo sounds. 1 Press the METRONOME [ON/OFF] button to start the metronome. 2 To stop the metronome, press the METRONOME [ON/OFF] button again. Adjusting the Tempo or Setting the Time Signature of the Metronome Sound ■ Adjusting the Metronome Tempo 1 Press the TEMPO [-]/[+] button to call up the pop-up tempo setting display. 2 Press the TEMPO [-]/[+] buttons to set the tempo. Pressing and holding either button lets you continuously increase or decrease the value. You can also use the [DATA ENTRY] dial to adjust the value. To reset the tempo, press the TEMPO [-]/[+] buttons simultaneously. n About the Tempo display The number in the display indicates how many quarter-note beats there are in one minute. The range is between 5 and 500.
