Remote control 1 AC adaptor 1 Power cable 1 Note Connect the AC adaptor and power cable to the unit before connecting the power cable to a wall outlet. Refer to the Quick Manual. iPod Dock Connects an iPhone/iPod to the unit. When the iPhone/iPod is connected, the unit turns on and begins charging the iPhone/iPod's battery. To listen to music through the unit's speakers, begin playback on the iPhone/iPod. The iPhone/iPod can be connected or disconnected anytime. When the iPhone/iPod is disconnected from the unit, the unit remembers the volume level. When the iPhone/iPod is connected again, the volume is set at the same level. Notes •Be sure to use a Dock adapter that is compatible with your iPhone/iPod. •If you do not use an adapter or if the adapter is not compatible, the connection could be loose or poor, which could cause damage or malfunctions. •The iPhone/iPod may not be set in the iPod dock securely if it is in its protective case. AUX Connects an external device to the unit. When the external device is connected, the unit turns on. To listen to music through the unit's speakers, begin playback on the external device. To connect an external device to the unit, use a commercially available 3.5 mm (1/8 in) stereo mini plug cable. Note When disconnecting the external device, be sure to remove the cable from AUX. Otherwise, the unit will remain on while the cable is connected. / (Volume keys) Adjust the volume level. •If the volume was set at a high level when the iPhone/iPod or external device was disconnected, the volume may be lowered automatically when playback begins. •When the AC adaptor is disconnected, the volume level will be reset to the default volume level. 15V (AC Adaptor) Connects the AC adaptor to the unit. Status Indicators (LEDs) Indicate the status of the unit and a connected iPhone/iPod. The status of a connected external device is not indicated. • Green status indicator: The unit is turned on and operating normally. • Red status indicator: An error has occurred or the volume has reached its maximum or minimum level. LED Green Red An iPhone/iPod is connected. Status Once The volume level has been adjusted using the iPhone/iPod or unit's volume keys, or a signal has been received from the remote control. TROUBLESHOOTING Refer to the table below if the unit does not operate properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below, or if the instruction below does not help, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center. Problem No sound. Cause The iPhone/iPod is not connected securely. The external device is not connected securely. The unit is not turned on. Cannot change the unit's volume by changing the iPhone/iPod's volume. The iPhone/iPod display does not change by pressing the remote control's volume keys. The iPhone/iPod cannot be controlled using the remote control. The external device cannot be controlled using the remote control. The remote control cannot be used. The volume is turned down. The protection circuitry has been activated by excessive volume. The connected iPod is not supported, or the iPhone/iPod is not connected securely. When playing an external device, only the volume can be changed using the remote control. The remote control is out of operation range. The battery is exhausted or was not inserted correctly. The green status indicator is lit, and the red status indicator is flashing. The insulation sheet has not been removed. Connection failed. The green status indicator is off, and the red status indicator is flashing continuously. An error occurred and the unit's protection circuitry has been activated. Remedy Connect the iPhone/iPod securely. Connect the 3.5 mm (1/8 in) stereo mini plug cable securely to the unit and external device. Connect the AC adaptor and power cable securely. Turn up the volume. Turn down the volume. Use a supported iPod, or connect iPhone/ iPod securely. Control all operations other than volume control at the external device itself. Use the remote control within its operation range. Refer to the Quick Manual for more information. Replace the battery and insert it correctly. Refer to "Replacing the Remote Control Battery When It Is Exhausted" for more information. Remove the insulation sheet. Refer to the Quick Manual for more information. • Use a supported iPod. • Connect the iPhone/iPod securely. • Restart the iPhone/iPod. • Update the iPhone/iPod firmware to the latest version. Disconnect the AC adaptor, wait for a while, and then connect the AC adaptor again. TROUBLESHOOTING
Refer to the table below if the unit does not operate properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below, or if the
instruction below does not help, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.

iPod Dock
Connects an iPhone/iPod to the unit. When the iPhone/iPod is connected, the unit turns on and begins charging the iPhone/iPod’s
battery.
To listen to music through the unit’s speakers, begin playback on the iPhone/iPod.
The iPhone/iPod can be connected or disconnected anytime. When the iPhone/iPod is disconnected from the unit, the unit
remembers the volume level. When the iPhone/iPod is connected again, the volume is set at the same level.
Notes
Be sure to use a Dock adapter that is compatible with your iPhone/iPod.
