ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TROUBLESHOOTING Refer to the table below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or if the instruction below does not help, turn off this unit, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center. ■ Tuner Problem Cause Remedy FM stereo reception is noisy. There is distortion, and clear reception cannot be obtained even with a good FM antenna. FM The desired station cannot be tuned into with the automatic tuning method. The Radio Data System information does not appear. The desired station cannot be tuned into with the automatic tuning method. AM There are continuous crackling and hissing noises. There are buzzing and whining noises. The characteristics of FM stereo broadcasts may cause this problem when the transmitter is too far away or the antenna input is poor. There is multi-path interference. The signal is too weak. The Radio Data System information is not provided by the radio station. The signal is too weak. The signal is weak or the antenna connections are loose. Noise can result from lightning, fluorescent lamps, motors, thermostats and other electrical equipment. A TV set is being used nearby. Incorrect cable connections. The internal microcomputer has been frozen by an external electric shock (such as lightning or excessive static electricity) or by a power supply with low voltage. Connect the power cord firmly. Disconnect the power cord, plug it back in after 30 seconds, then use it normally. Firmly connect the audio connection cord plugs.
