CHAPTER 18 Remote Management 18.1 Overview This chapter explains how to configure the TR-069 settings and access control settings on the Device. 18.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter • The TR-069 screen lets you configure the Device's TR-069 auto-configuration settings (Section 18.3 on page 223). • The TR-064 screen lets you enable management via TR-064 on the Device (Section 18.3 on page 223) • The Service Control screens let you configure through which interface(s) users can use which service(s) to manage the Device (Section 18.4 on page 224). • The IP Address screens let you configure from which IP address(es) users can use a service to manage the Device (Section 18.5 on page 225). 18.2 The TR-069 Screen TR-069 defines how Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), for example your Device, can be managed over the WAN by an Auto Configuration Server (ACS). TR-069 is based on sending Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) between an ACS and a client device. RPCs are sent in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format over HTTP or HTTPS. An administrator can use an ACS to remotely set up the Device, modify settings, perform firmware upgrades as well as monitor and diagnose the Device. You have enable the device to be managed by the ACS and specify the ACS IP address or domain name and username and password. P-870HN-5xb User's Guide 221
