118 UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE It will accept a cigar lighter unit, which is part of the optional Smokers Package. To preserve the heating element of the cigar lighter unit, do not hold the lighter in the heating position. As a child safety precaution, this outlet is powered by the ignition switch, only when the switch is in the ON or ACCESSORY positions. There are two optional power outlets. One is in the Accessory Switch Bank, in the center of the instrument panel. Power Outlet This outlet is powered directly by the battery, regardless of the ignition switch position. All accessories connected to this outlet should be removed or turned off when the vehicle is not in use, to protect the battery against discharge.
