2-6 Keys, Doors and Windows To set the locks, insert a key into the slot and turn it to the horizontal position. The door can only be opened from the outside with the door unlocked. To return the door to normal operation, turn the slot to the vertical position. Rear Door Security Locks Your vehicle has rear door security locks to prevent passengers from opening the rear doors from the inside. CAUTION (Continued) Liftgate { CAUTION It can be dangerous to drive with the liftgate open because carbon monoxide (CO) gas can come into your vehicle. You cannot see or smell CO. It can cause unconsciousness and even death. Open the rear doors to access the security locks on the inside edge of each door. (Continued) If you must drive with the liftgate open, or if electrical wiring or other cable connections must pass through the seal between the body and the liftgate: • Make sure all other windows are shut. • Turn the fan on your heating or cooling system to its highest speed with the recirculation mode off. That will force outside air into your vehicle. See Climate Control System in the index. • If you have air outlets on or under the instrument panel, open them all the way.
