Advanced BIOS Features The following screen shows the Advanced BIOS Features: The following table describes the parameters found in this menu. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested settings. Parameter Virus Warning Quick Power On Self Test Hard Disk Boot Priority First/Second/Third Boot Device Boot Other Device Swap Floppy Drive Boot Up Floppy Seek Description Allows you to set the virus warning feature for IDE Hard Disk boot sector protection. If the function is enabled and any attempt to write data into this area is made, BIOS will display a warning message on screen and beep. This parameter speeds up POST by skipping some items that are normally checked. Enabled Disabled Enabled Disbaled Options The items allow you to set the sequence of boot device where BIOS attempts to load the disk operating system. Floppy, LS120, HDD-0, SCSI, CDROM, HDD-1, HDD-2, HDD-3, ZIP, LAN, Disabled (Disable this sequence ). The sequence following the order of HDD, Floppy and CD-ROM is recommended. This parameter allows you to specify the system Enabled boot up search sequence. Disbaled Setting to Enabled will swap floppy drive a: and Enabled b:. Disabled Setting to Enabled will make BIOS seek floppy Enabled drive a: before booting the system. Disabled Chapter 2 27
