Chapter 4 Troubleshooting How should I begin troubleshooting? If you see an error message, find the message in the "List of POST Error Messages" on page 67 and take the corrective action(s) indicated. If you did not receive an error message, look for a description of your error symptoms in the "List of Error Symptoms" on page 70 and take the corrective action(s) indicated. If you receive error beeps while flashing the BIOS using the boot block function, refer to the "List of Error Beeps for BIOS Boot Block Flash" on page 76 to find the corrective actions. If you are unable to correct the problem by using the above information, go to " Undetermined Problems" on page 77. NOTE: After you have deemed it necessary to replace an FRU, and have done so, you must then run a total system check to ensure that no other activity has been affected by the change. This system check can be done through the diagnostics program. NOTE: Check all power supply voltages, switch, and jumper settings before you replace the main board. Also check the power supply voltages if you have a "system no-power" condition.
