TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Engine will not crank/start. Engine runs rough. Unit does not move with engine running when using steering levers. PROBABLE CAUSE 1. Safety interlock system is not engaged or is faulty. 2. Fuel tanks empty. 3. Discharged battery. 4. Poor connection between battery and battery cables. 5. Spark plug wire(s) loose or spark plug(s) faulty. 6. Faulty electrical system. 7. Faulty engine. 1. Choke engaged. 2. Air filter cartridge plugged. 3. Faulty engine. 1. The transmission bypass lever is engaged. 2. Faulty hydrostatic belt. 3. Faulty transmission. CORRECTION 1. Check safety interlock system (see Safety Interlock System on page 13). 2. Fill fuel tanks (see FILLING FUEL TANK on page 15). 3. Charge battery (see Charging the Battery on page 22). 4. Tighten battery cables and/or clean battery and battery cables (see Cleaning Battery and Battery Cables on page 22). 5. Connect spark plug wire(s) or replace spark plug(s). Refer to Engine Manual for detailed instructions. 6. Contact your Ariens Dealer. 7. Contact your Ariens Dealer. 1. Disengage choke. 2. Clean or replace air filter cartridge. Refer to Engine Manual for detailed instructions. 3. Contact your Ariens Dealer. 1. Disengage transmission bypass lever (see on page 17). 2.
