Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15B of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. Do not make any changes or modifications to the equipment unless otherwise specified in the manual. If such changes or modifications should be made, you could be required to stop operation of the equipment. Canadian Radio Interface Regulations CAN ICES-3(A)/NMB-3(A) KCC-REM-CIN-BU-47H GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION Failure to observe these warnings and cautions provided for the purpose of hazard prevention may result in injuries or accidents. Read this installation manual carefully to familiarize yourself with its contents and to ensure proper installation of this product. This installation manual uses the following symbols and terms in the warning and caution notices for preventing accidents and protecting the safety of the customer and others. WARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not heeded, may result in death or serious injury to you or others. Be sure to heed all warning notices to ensure safe operation at all times. CAUTION Indicates hazardous situations which, if not heeded, may result in minor or moderate injury to you or other persons, or damages to your property. NOTE Emphasizes essential inform which, if not heeded, may render the product unworkable or cause it to function improperly. Also, provides helpful information for operation. WARNING INSTALLATION 1. To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely fixed in accordance with the installation manual. 2. This product shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. 3. Do not install the unit in a location where there is a risk of combustion or ignition. When the unit is installed in a location where inflammable gas collects or is produced, ignition may result which in turn may cause a fire. CAUTION 1. When installing the unit, do not rotate the head and the camera forcibly by hand. It can cause damage to this device. 2. Do not install the unit in an unstable location such as on a wobbly table, on a sloping surface or in a location subject to severe vibration. Doing so may cause the unit to fall down or topple over, possibly causing injury. 3. Do not install the unit in a location where it may be directly exposed to salt water (seawater) or where corrosive gas or soot is present. Contact with such substances may corrode and degrade the mountings, ultimately causing the unit to fall down and possibly causing injury. 4. When transporting the unit, hold the handle of the head unit and the bottom of the unit. Otherwise, the unit may be dropped, possibly causing breakdown or injury. 5. When installing the unit in an elevated location, take appropriate measures to prevent the equipment and parts from falling. Otherwise, the equipment and parts may fall, possibly causing injury. 6. Do not install the unit in a location where it may be directly exposed to sunlight for protecting the lens. 7. The unit does not have a freeze-proof structure, so it does not move when frozen. Take care when installing the unit in a location where it may be frozen. This unit is not freeze-resistant and does not operate if frozen. Therefore, be careful when installing in a location where it may freeze. WARNING POWER SUPPLY 1. Never attempt to connect or disconnect the power cord with wet hands. Doing so may cause electric shocks. 2. Connect the power cord securely to both the input connectors and the outlet. If dust is allowed to accumulate on the exposed prongs of the power cord plug or if the prongs come into contact with metal, fire or electric shocks may result. Disconnect the power cord periodically, and use a dry cloth to wipe off any dust or dirt that has accumulated on the prongs and around the input connectors and the outlet. If the power cord is left connected for extended periods of time in locations with high levels of dust, moisture or oily smoke, the accumulated dust will absorb moisture, resulting in deterioration of the insulation and possibly fire. 3. Always remove the mounting screws before disconnecting the power cord. Placing excessive stress on the power cord may break its wires or otherwise damage the power cord, and power may leak from the damaged area, resulting in fire or electric shocks. 4. The power cord is not supplied. Using a cord that does not comply with the safety standard or is otherwise unsuitable for the installation conditions (approved product, environment) may result in fire or electric shocks. CAUTION 1. In order to ensure that the power plug can be unplugged at any time, never place objects around the power plug. Otherwise, it may be impossible to disconnect the power plug in the event of an emergency. 2. Never connect or disconnect cables until making certain that the power is turned off. Doing so may cause electric shock or damage. WARNING HANDLING THE UNIT 1. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. 2. Do not allow the pan-tilt head or the inside of the housing to become wet, and do not allow water to enter inside or to be spilled onto the head. Do not put any object which contains liquid such as a drink or a vase on this product. If water has found its way inside the unit, stop using it immediately. Continuing to use the unit is a fire or electric shock hazard. Pub No. B-IM-40113-5 3. Do not attempt to disassemble or remodel the unit. High-voltage parts and intermeshing gears are to be found inside the unit, and contact with them may cause injury. 4. Do not drop the unit, bump into other objects or otherwise subject it to strong impact. If the main unit has been damaged, disconnect the power cord from the input connectors. Then contact your dealer or your Canon representative. 5. Please do not turn the lens toward the sun. When a strong light enters at the TELE side, it can cause damage to the lens and the camera. 6. When operating this device, please use a control device such as an operation unit. When panning or tilting by hand or other methods, it can cause damage to this device. CAUTION 1. Make sure that all the mountings are tightened securely. A loose mounting may cause the unit to fall down, possibly resulting in injury. 2. Periodically (every 6 months to a year as a general rule) inspect the mountings for looseness. A loose mounting may cause the unit to fall down, possibly resulting in injury. WARNING MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION 1. Clean only with dry cloth. 2. Before cleaning the outside paneling of the unit, always disconnect the power cord from the input connectors. Furthermore, do not use benzene, paint thinners or other easily ignitable substances for cleaning purposes. Doing so is a fire and electric shock hazard. 3. This system should not be opened or disassembled, except by qualified service personnel. • Dangerous parts are to be found inside the unit, contact with them may cause finger pinch and electric shock hazard. • If foreign objects and dust enter the inside, it may cause damage to this device. • In case of high temperature and high humidity, internal damage and condensation may occur if humid air is allowed to enter this device. WARNING STORAGE 1. Before transporting the unit, return the housing to the horizontal position. When transporting the unit, place it inside the original shipping carton which was used specifically to house the unit. TO THE CUSTOMER 1.
