How to Restore a Backup Restoring from Backup Data Use the following procedure to restore a Storage Server from backup data: 1 Prepare a new Storage Server for the restore. 2 Install this software. 3 Stop the Storage Server. For details on how to stop the Storage Server, please refer to "Stopping the Storage Server" (P. 142). 4 Restore the configuration file for this software to its original location. The following folder is used by default: :\ProgramData\Canon\WebView\NVR30\ :\Users\\AppData\Local\Canon\WebView\NVR30\ Important • If the configuration file is not properly restored, all settings will be reset to their default configurations. • If you upgraded the software from RM v4.0 or earlier, the maximum storage period for recorded data (P. 66) will be set to one week by default. If the recorded data is restored with the default settings, any included data that is older than one week will be deleted when the Storage Server starts up. • If the [Ensure video is kept for up to] option (P. 66) is set, any restored recording data that exceeds the specified storage period will be deleted when the Storage Server launches. 5 Restore the recording files to their original location. Also make sure that the restored recording data plays back correctly.  Stopping the Storage Server The Storage Server runs in the background as a Windows service. When you restore backup data, you must follow the following steps to temporarily stop the Storage Server. 1 Click [Start] > [Control Panel]. 2 Click [System and Security]. 3 Click [Administrative Tools]. 4 Double-click [Services]. 142

Restoring from Backup Data
Use the following procedure to restore a Storage Server from backup data:
For details on how to stop the Storage Server, please refer to “Stopping the Storage Server” (P. 142).
The following folder is used by default:

Stopping the Storage Server
The Storage Server runs in the background as a Windows service. When you restore backup data, you must follow
the following steps to temporarily stop the Storage Server.

Important
