Message DATA ERROR PRESS START KEY DOCUMENT TOO LONG FAILED TO WRITE FAILED TO WRITE CHECK MEDIA FEEDER PAPER JAM CHECK THE FEEDER Description Action The machine may have trouble. Press [Start] to restore all settings to the default. If the message persists, contact Canon Customer Care Center. The document fed from the ADF is longer than 24 7/8" (630 mm), or is not feeding correctly. - Scan the document on the platen glass. - Reduce the length of the document to within 24 7/8" (630 mm), then try again. Some kind of error occurred in the machine when you are scanning a document to a USB memory (e.g., the USB memory is disconnected from the machine.). Make sure that the USB memory is inserted correctly to the machine. Press [OK] and try again. - USB memory locked or with security function is connected to the USB memory port. - Release the lock on the USB memory or use a USB memory without security function. - The type of the USB memory connected to the USB memory port is not supported. - Use a USB memory with a file system FAT16 or FAT32. - The USB memory is full of data or the number of file limit has reached. - Get enough space in the USB memory or organize your destination folder from your computer. A document jam may have occurred in the ADF. Remove the jammed document. Troubleshooting 11-15
