Quick Reference Power indicator POWER/MODE SONG BANK Number buttons START/STOP This section provides a quick overview of keyboard operation using steps one and two of the 3-step lesson feature. With the 3-step lesson feature, the on-screen keyboard guide keys light to show the next note of the tune. To play the keyboard 1 Set the POWER/MODE switch to NORMAL. • This causes the power indicator to light. Lit PIANO BANK STEP 2 STEP 1 4 Press the STEP 1 button or STEP 2 button. • The keyboard sounds a count beat and waits for you to play something on the keyboard. The keys that you need to press first flash on the display. 5 Play the melody along with the selected tune's accompaniment. • Play in accordance with the keyboard keys, fingerings and notes that appear on the display. Indicator appears 3 Find the tune you want to play in the SONG BANK List, and then use the number buttons to input its two-digit number. • See page A-9 for the SONG BANK List. Al oha Oe Keyboard key used Fingering Note pitch If you selected lesson Step 1 • Play the notes on the keyboard. • Accompaniment (left-hand part) plays in time with the notes. • With Step 1, the correct melody note is played no matter which keyboard key you press. If you selected lesson Step 2 • Play the correct notes on the keyboard. • While an on-screen keyboard guide key is lit, press the corresponding key on the actual keyboard. In the case of a Piano Bank tune, the keyboard guide indication turns off when you press a keyboard key, and the on-screen keyboard guide key lights for the next note to be played. • Accompaniment (left-hand part) plays in time with the notes, as long as you press the correct keyboard keys.
