Using Diagnostic Pages Chapter 9 Diagnostics and Troubleshooting Using Diagnostic Pages The management system contains three diagnostic pages that provide detailed statistics and event records for the access point: • The Radio Diagnostics Page provides the antenna alignment test and carrier test utilities. • The Network Ports Page lists statistics on data transmitted and received by the access point. • The Event Log Page lists network events. Each page is described in the sections below. Radio Diagnostics Page Use the Radio Diagnostics page to test antenna alignment between two wireless networking devices and to examine the radio spectrum in which the access point operates. The antenna alignment test helps you find the best alignment for a repeater access point's directional antenna, and the carrier test helps you determine which radio frequencies contain the most radio activity and noise that could interfere with radio signals to and from the access point. Note The access point performs the carrier test for the internal radio only; it does not perform the carrier test for the radio module. Figure 9-1 shows the Radio Diagnostics page.
