Cisco Optics Cisco Optics Cisco CWDM Solution Cisco Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) Solution allows scalable and easy-to-deploy Gigabit Ethernet (GBE) and Fibre Channel services. The combination of CWDM GBICs and CWDM SFPs and CWDM Optical Add-Drop Modules (OADMs) and Multiplexers enables the design of a flexible and highly available multiservice network. The Cisco CWDM Solution offers a convenient and cost-effective solution for the adoption of optical Gigabit Ethernet in campus, data center, and metropolitan-area access networks. Cisco CWDM Solution consists of a set of eight different Cisco CWDM GBICs (one for each of the eight different colors or wavelengths), eight different SFPs, a set of eight single wavelength/dual channel OADMs, two four-channel OADM/Multiplexer and an eight-channel Multiplexer along with a CWDM rack-mountable chassis. Cisco DWDM Transceiver Modules The Cisco Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transceiver modules allow users to integrate WDM transport directly with Cisco 1 GBE and 10 GBE switches and routers. Cisco offers GBIC and SFP DWDM modules for 1-Gigabit links, and XENPAK, X2, XFP DWDM modules for 10-Gigabit links. The DWDM modules and DWDM optical filter and amplifier products (Cisco ONS 15216 and EWDM series) enable the design of a flexible and highly available multiservice network. The DWDM modules support 100GHz ITU grid and can be used for unamplified and amplified designs to transmit up to 400 Gigabits over one pair of fiber. Tunable DWDM XFP modules support 80 channels on 50GHz ITU grid and can be used to transmit up to 800 Gigabits over one pair of fiber. 272

Cisco DWDM Transceiver Modules
The Cisco Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transceiver modules allow users to integrate WDM
transport directly with Cisco 1 GBE and 10 GBE switches and routers. Cisco offers GBIC and SFP DWDM
modules for 1-Gigabit links, and XENPAK, X2, XFP DWDM modules for 10-Gigabit links. The DWDM
modules and DWDM optical filter and amplifier products (Cisco ONS 15216 and EWDM series) enable the
design of a flexible and highly available multiservice network. The DWDM modules support 100GHz ITU
grid and can be used for unamplified and amplified designs to transmit up to 400 Gigabits over one pair of
fiber. Tunable DWDM XFP modules support 80 channels on 50GHz ITU grid and can be used to transmit
up to 800 Gigabits over one pair of fiber.
Cisco CWDM Solution
Cisco Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) Solution allows scalable and easy-to-deploy Gigabit
Ethernet (GBE) and Fibre Channel services. The combination of CWDM GBICs and CWDM SFPs and
CWDM Optical Add-Drop Modules (OADMs) and Multiplexers enables the design of a flexible and highly
available multiservice network.
The Cisco CWDM Solution offers a convenient and cost-effective solution for the adoption of optical
Gigabit Ethernet in campus, data center, and metropolitan-area access networks. Cisco CWDM Solution
consists of a set of eight different Cisco CWDM GBICs (one for each of the eight different colors or
wavelengths), eight different SFPs, a set of eight single wavelength/dual channel OADMs, two four-channel
OADM/Multiplexer and an eight-channel Multiplexer along with a CWDM rack-mountable chassis.
