spanning-tree mst priority Chapter 2 Catalyst 3560 Switch Cisco IOS Commands spanning-tree mst priority Use the spanning-tree mst priority global configuration command to set the switch priority for the specified spanning-tree instance. Use the no form of this command to return to the default setting. spanning-tree mst instance-id priority priority no spanning-tree mst instance-id priority Syntax Description instance-id priority Range of spanning-tree instances. You can specify a single instance, a range of instances separated by a hyphen, or a series of instances separated by a comma. The range is 0 to 4094. Set the switch priority for the specified spanning-tree instance. This setting affects the likelihood that the switch is selected as the root switch. A lower value increases the probability that the switch is selected as the root switch. The range is 0 to 61440 in increments of 4096. Valid priority values are 0, 4096, 8192, 12288, 16384, 20480, 24576, 28672, 32768, 36864, 40960, 45056, 49152, 53248, 57344, and 61440. All other values are rejected. Defaults The default is 32768. Examples This example shows how to set the spanning-tree priority to 8192 for multiple spanning-tree instances (MST) 20 to 21: Switch(config)# spanning-tree mst 20-21 priority 8192 You can verify your settings by entering the show spanning-tree mst instance-id privileged EXEC command.
