Front Components Component ID Component Description 1 Power/standby light* 2 Battery light On: Notebook is turned on. Blinking: Notebook is in standby. Off: Notebook is off. On: The battery pack is charging. Blinking: The notebook is unable to start up while running on the available battery power.† Off: The battery pack is fully charged or not inserted. 3 IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) drive light On or blinking: The primary hard drive or an optical drive is being accessed. 4 Display release button Opens the notebook. 5 Stereo speakers (2) Produce stereo sound. *The notebook has 2 power/standby lights. The power/standby light on the top of the notebook is visible only when the notebook is open; the power/standby light on the front of the notebook is visible when the notebook is closed. †The battery light blinks if you try to turn on the notebook while the notebook is disconnected from external power and contains a battery pack that does not have enough charge to start the notebook.
