Optical Drive 11 Removing The Optical Drive 1. Follow the procedures in Before Working On Your Computer. 2. Remove the Battery. 3. Push in the drive latch into the slot. 4. Using a plastic scribe, pry the keyboard trim from the top edge to release it from the computer. 3. Pry along the sides. 4. 15. Release and disconnect the LED, smart card, touchpad, RFID, and ExpressCard cable from the system board. 16.
