Example The following example acquires an IP address for Ethernet port 1/e16 from DHCP. Console(config)# interface ethernet 1/e16 Console(config-if)# ip address dhcp ip default-gateway The ip default-gateway Global Configuration mode command defines a default gateway (router). To return to the default configuration, use the no form of this command. Syntax ip default-gateway ip-address no ip default-gateway • ip-address - Valid IP address of the default gateway. Default Configuration No default gateway is defined. Command Mode Global Configuration mode User Guidelines There are no user guidelines for this command. Example The following example defines default gateway 192.168.1.1. Console(config)# ip default-gateway 192.168.1.1 show ip interface The show ip interface User EXEC mode command displays the usability status of configured IP interfaces.
