International Character Sets Twelve character codes between 35 and 126 can represent more than one character each, depending upon the international character set you select. You can make the choice either by setting DIP switches 1-6 through 1-8 or by using the ESC R command. The table below shows all 13 character sets, together with the number to use with ESC R to select each one. The DIP switch combinations to select any of the first eight character sets are in Appendix D. Note that once a character set has been selected, italic versions of these characters can also be printed by using the ESC 4 command. Table B-2.
