Speaking Commands Note: You can only speak the names of very popular, well-known locations. Use the Where To? menu categories to search for other locations. To speak an address: 1. Speak Find Address from any screen. 2. Respond to the prompts to speak or spell the city name, the house number, and the street. Recognizing Icons and Tones • The nüvi sounds two tones when it enters speech recognition mode. • The nüvi sounds two tones when it exits speech recognition mode. • The nüvi sounds two quick beeps if it does not recognize your command. • A red speak icon is displayed in the upper-right corner of the screen when the nüvi is not ready for your command. Wait until the icon is green to speak your command. 20 Using Speech Recognition Tips • Speak commands exactly as they appear on the screen. • Respond to voice prompts from the nüvi. • To enter numbers, speak the numbers you want to enter. Say Delete or Backspace to delete the last number.
