5-3-2 Configuring S/PDIF Out The S/PDIF Out jacks (Note 1) can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best audio quality. 1. Connecting a S/PDIF Out Cable: S/PDIF Coaxial Cable S/PDIF Optical Cable Connect a S/PDIF coaxial cable or a S/PDIF optical cable (either one) to an external decoder for transmitting the S/PDIF digital audio signals. 2. Configuring S/PDIF Out: Step 1: While in the operating system, right-click on the icon in the notification area and select Playback devices. Step 2: On the Playback tab, right-click on SPDIF Out (Note 2), select Set as Default Device, and then open the Properties dialog box. Step 3: You can go to the Supported Formats tab to select the formats to be decoded or the Advanced tab to select the sample rate and bit depth. Configuring S/PDIF Out
The S/PDIF Out jacks
(Note 1)
can transmit audio signals to an external decoder for decoding to get the best
audio quality.
1. Connecting a S/PDIF Out Cable:
S/PDIF Coaxial Cable
Connect a S/PDIF coaxial cable or a S/PDIF optical cable (either one) to an external decoder for transmitting
the S/PDIF digital audio signals.
S/PDIF Optical Cable

The actual locations of the S/PDIF Out connectors may differ by
model.

if you use the S/PDIF Out connector(s) on the
back panel for digital audio output or
