QoS Metrics, Using HP 3PAR Priority Optimization, Creating a New QoS Rule

Page 154 highlights

QoS Metrics With HP 3PAR MC 4.4 and later, new charts showing historical data about how QoS operates for a particular VVset are available. To view the charts, click the Performance and Reports tab in the MC. The charts cover the following data: • IOPS • Bandwidth • Service time • I/O size • Rejected packets • Queue length HP 3PAR Priority Optimization includes only host I/O in its decisions to delay or reject I/O packets. I/O traffic for remote copy, online import, or over the peer links of peer motion, does not influence the I/O statistics. Using HP 3PAR Priority Optimization You can manage HP 3PAR Priority Optimization either through the HP 3PAR MC, or through the HP 3PAR CLI. This section describes procedures and best practices. Creating a New QoS Rule Creating a New QoS Rule with the HP 3PAR CLI To create a new rule for a VVset using the MC, select and right-click the VVset name in the Virtual Volume Sets tree node in the Provisioning pane. A popup menu with configuration options appears (see Figure 9 (page 154)). If this is a new rule, only the Configure QoS option is available. Figure 9 Configuring a New QoS Rule Click Configure QoS. The Target Type defaults to Virtual Volume Set, since in this case QoS creation started out from a VVset. The Configure QoS dialog box appears. 154 HP Priority Optimization
