Custom host mode for Solaris x86 hosts Due to a Solaris x86 driver issue, the custom host mode must be used for all Solaris x86 hosts. When adding a Solaris x86 host, set the custom host properties as follows: 1. Start HP Command View EVA and select the Host folder for the appropriate storage system. 2. Click Add host. 3. Complete the steps for adding a host: • Select Custom for the Host OS. • Enter the following value as the Custom mode number: 0000012A200008AE You can change an existing Solaris x86 host to custom mode as follows: 1. Start HP Command View EVA and select the appropriate Host icon in the Host folder. 2. Select the General tab on the Host properties page. 3. Select Custom for the Operating System Type. 4. Enter the following value as the Custom type: 0000012A200008AE 4000/6000/8000 Enterprise Virtual Array connectivity 5.0D for Sun Solaris release notes 7

Custom host mode for Solaris x86 hosts
Due to a Solaris x86 driver issue, the custom host mode must be used for all Solaris x86 hosts. When
adding a Solaris x86 host, set the custom host properties as follows:
1.
Start HP Command View EVA and select the Host folder for the appropriate storage system.
2.
Click
Add host
.
3.
Complete the steps for adding a host:
Select
Custom
for the Host OS.
Enter the following value as the Custom mode number:
0000012A200008AE
