Disabling IPv4 address scheme, EVA4400 controller display - driver

Page 4 highlights

Disabling IPv4 address scheme To disable the IPv4 address scheme on the management port of the mpx100 server, set the static IPv4 address to 0.0.0.0. EVA4400 controller display For EVA4400, the controller is displayed as 1 or 2, and the GUI virtual disk setting displays the controller as A or B. The following represents the correlation between the displayed differences: • Controller 1 = A (left controller) • Controller 2 = B (right controller) Storage arrays not displaying in HP Command View EVA If the management server is running Microsoft Windows 2003 and has Emulex 8 Gb/s HBAs installed, HP Command View EVA 8.x may not display any arrays. To resolve this issue, you must install a Microsoft hotfix. Go to the following link for details and the hotfix download: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945119 The title of the issue on the Microsoft site is: Stop error that is related to the Storport.sys driver on a Windows Server 2003-based computer: "0x000000D1 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". This issue only occurs if Emulex 8 Gb/s HBAs (HP part numbers AJ762A and AJ763A) and HP Command View EVA 8.x are installed on the management server. If you are using the server for storage only, not as a management server, you do not need to install this hotfix. Limitations HP Command View EVA 8.1 includes the following limitations for array-based management: • HP Command View EVA array-based management does not support HP Command View EVAPerf, SMI-S EVA, and HP Storage System Scripting Utility. You can install HP Command View EVAPerf on a host connected to the EVA. HP Storage System Scripting Utility can be installed on any supported host (EVA connection is not required) that can communicate with HP Command View EVA. • If you are managing your array with the array-based version of HP Command View EVA, you will have read-only access to HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA features. Server-based management is required for full HP Continuous Access EVA functionality. • Only one EVA4400 storage system can be managed using array-based management. • HP Replication Solutions Manager is not supported with array-based management. • WEBES is not supported with HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 8.1 • Array-based management does not support the same domain security implementation that exists in server-based management. HP Command View EVA 8.1 array-based management only provides one administrator and one user account. This security implementation also exists on the WOCP. Installing HP Command View EVA 8.1 See the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA installation guide for installation instructions. 4

The title of the issue on the Microsoft site is: Stop error that is related to the Storport.sys driver on a
Windows Server 2003-based computer: "0x000000D1 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3,
parameter4) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
This issue only occurs if Emulex 8 Gb/s HBAs (HP part numbers AJ762A and AJ763A) and HP
Command View EVA 8.x are installed on the management server. If you are using the server for
storage only, not as a management server, you do not need to install this hotfix.
Limitations
HP Command View EVA 8.1 includes the following limitations for array-based management:
HP Command View EVA array-based management does not support HP Command View EVAPerf,
SMI-S EVA, and HP Storage System Scripting Utility. You can install HP Command View EVAPerf
on a host connected to the EVA. HP Storage System Scripting Utility can be installed on any sup-
ported host (EVA connection is not required) that can communicate with HP Command View EVA.
If you are managing your array with the array-based version of HP Command View EVA, you will
have read-only access to HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA features. Server-based man-
agement is required for full HP Continuous Access EVA functionality.
Only one EVA4400 storage system can be managed using array-based management.
HP Replication Solutions Manager is not supported with array-based management.
WEBES is not supported with HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 8.1
Array-based management does not support the same domain security implementation that exists
in server-based management. HP Command View EVA 8.1 array-based management only provides
one administrator and one user account. This security implementation also exists on the WOCP.
Installing HP Command View EVA 8.1
See the
HP StorageWorks Command View EVA installation guide
for installation instructions.
