Copying 4 This chapter explains how to make copies and how to use the special copying features of the HP Color Copier. . How to Make Copies 1 Turn on the HP Color Copier by pressing the white power button located on the left side of the unit's front panel. 2 Load the paper. 3 Choose one of the following for placing your original: x If you are not using an automatic document feeder (ADF), place your original face down on the glass with the top edge along the white border. If the original is a photo, place the top of the photo along the white border, close to the white arrow. x If you are using an ADF, place your originals in the feeder with the printed side facing toward the back and with the top to the right. Align the paper with the right side of the ADF. Be sure to put fullsized pages only in the ADF, and adjust the page guide to the length of the originals. HP Color Copier User's Guide 4-1

Step 1 — Unpack Your HPColor Copier	9
1 Remove the cardboard tray containing the accessory items.	9
2 Rest the box on its side, and pull out your HPColor Copier.	9
3 Verify that the following items are included with your HPColor Copier:	10
a Power supply (AC/DC adapter) with attached cord (HP part number 0950-2880)	10
b Power cord	10
c Front-panel overlay with text on it	10
d One black and one color print cartridge	10
4 Choose a location and environment for your HPColor Copier.	10
5 Remove the packaging materials (plastic wrap, cardboard insert, and packing tape) from the outs...	11
6 If your HPColor Copier has an automatic document feeder (ADF), remove the packaging materials ...	11
Step 2 — Attach the Front-Panel Overlay	12
1 Align the front-panel overlay with the front panel buttons.	12
2 Push straight down firmly on both ends and the middle to snap the overlay into place.	12
Step 3 — Load Paper in Your HPColor Copier	13
1 Remove the packaging materials from the HPColor Copier, if you have not already done so.	13
2 Slide the paper width and length adjusters to their outermost positions.	13
3 Insert paper into the IN tray, print side down, until it stops.	13
4 Slide the paper width and length adjusters in until they stop at the edges of the paper.	13
