A Setup Instructions Using an AppleTalk Connection You can print to an HP DeskJet 900 Series printer using an AppleTalk network connection if your printer is turned on and connected to your AppleTalk network with an HP JetDirect 300X External Print Server. To set up an AppleTalk printer connection: • Your HP DeskJet 900 Series printer must be turned on and connected to your AppleTalk network with an HP JetDirect 300X External Print Server • Your computer must be turned on and connected to your AppleTalk network • AppleTalk must be active on your computer • Your computer must be running MacOS 7.6.1 or higher If your configuration meets these requirements, see "AppleTalk Network Connection" on page 7 to set up an AppleTalk network connection. Connecting Your Printer to an HP JetDirect 300X External Print Server If you would like to print to an HP DeskJet 900 Series printer but your printer is not connected to an HP JetDirect 300X External Print Server, connect the printer to an HP JetDirect 300X External Print Server according to the instructions that came with the print server, then see "AppleTalk Network Connection" on page 7 to set up an AppleTalk network connection. 56
