FCArray Assistant Client Monitoring Functions The FCArray Assistant Server software collects and disseminates information on disk array status and resource utilization. If the goal is monitoring and simple maintenance or messaging, FCArray Assistant Server is sufficient for these tasks. The FCArray Assistant Client software, an additional component available from Hewlett-Packard, accesses this information and then organizes it through an intuitive graphical display. Errors and events are recorded in a log and if a problem is serious enough to warrant immediate attention, operators can be alerted electronically via popup windows, pagers, fax or e-mail, if desired. Configuration Functions Disk array configuration and remote TCP/IP support functions are provided through use of the FCArray Assistant Client software.
