Product Information Product Description Rack Mounting Configurations Rack mounting orientations, either front out or back out are supported. Power switching has both front and back accessibility. Status and test LEDs are located on the Model 744 VMEbus Board Computers. The mass storage module can be configured for front or rear access to removable media. A rack-mount kit is supplied with each workstation. These features allow the workstation to be operated from either the front or back, depending on how they are mounted. EISA and VME card cages are fixed and cannot be reversed. Memory Standard memory is an Error Checking and Correcting (ECC) RAM board. 32 MB is the minimum required for the HP-UX operating system. Memory boards are designed to be stacked in the single stack available on a Model 744. Options may add more factory installed memory. Memory for a 744 upgrade include: • HP A4503A 64 MB RAM card • HP A4449A 128 MB RAM card • HP A6005A 256MB RAM card Mass Storage Up to four single-ended SCSI devices may be installed in the mass storage tray. One or two single-ended SCSI removable media devices may be installed. Mass storage devices are factory installed with the removable media drives accessed from the front. Users may reconfigure devices to reverse the access. Hard disk drives are single-ended devices in the standard tray. Hard drives are typically installed behind the removable media devices.
